ABOUT DREW SIX

Heartland country-rocker, Drew Six is a natural frontman. His high energy stage presence has earned him opening spots with such notable acts as Luke Bryan, Dan + Shay, Maroon 5, Thomas Rhett, Backstreet Boys, Darius Rucker, and Gary Allan. This is where he has honed his ability to command an audience, spread his message of hope and optimism, and build his fiercely loyal fan base.

Country Radio Hall of Fame inductee, Mike Kennedy says, “Drew is one of the harder working artists I’ve ever seen. Whether he’s playing acoustically or with the full band, it’s always a great show. Versatile, talented, and entertaining.”

Six’s textured raspy baritone and bluesy delivery lends authenticity to his hopeful anthems. “Dreams Do,” premiered as a short film and music video at the Dream Factory National Convention in Louisville, KY. The new single was debuted on Q104 “New Hit Country” KBEQ-FM and has taken on a life of its own on streaming and social platforms. The emotional and cinematic song was inspired by the Dream Factory, an organization that grants the dreams of children who are critically or chronically ill. The song’s raw story of fighting through personal struggle and hardship to find the light at the end of the tunnel offers a powerful universal message that reaches far beyond the initial audience who inspired the song.

Although Drew Six’s Nashville song-craft is omnipresent and well ingrained in the foundation of his sound, it rides atop his true roots: driving midwestern rock.  His delivery has  garnered comparisons to a modern version of Mellencamp, Springsteen, and Seger. The big chorus sing-along, “Boyfriend,” and accompanying music video (featured on CMT) showcase Drew’s rock n’ roll swagger and crossover appeal. The funk-infused hip shaker earned him industry attention for his songwriting chops when the early demo went #1 on the NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International) Top 40 Chart. His original songs have been honored by ASCAP, The Recording Academy, and utilized by ESPN. "The Bull," a fan favorite at Drew Six live performances, and has been played at select PBR (Professional Bull Rider) arena events nationwide.

While Six splits his time between Nashville and Kansas City, he has maintained a close connection with his hometown. His gritty soulful low-end vocals and magnetic stage presence have earned him the title of “best sexy musician” in Pitch Magazine’s “Best Of" issue and he was named one of KC Magazine’s “100 people that have changed life in Kansas City forever.” He was a featured performer at Major League Baseball’s marquee event, the World Series Gala.

Drew is also passionate about several charities. He was honored with the “Quest For Kindness” award for his work with Variety Children’s Charity. The organization provides children with developmental disabilities adaptive equipment and opportunities for activity and inclusion. Six’s self-penned song, “We Choose Livin’” was written for and inspired by the kids of Variety.

“I learned early on that music has power. It brings people together that would normally never cross paths,” says Six. “Performing live and songwriting have both given me special ways to connect with people and give back.”

Drew Six recently showcased his songs in an intimate acoustic setting with Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame member, Gary Burr, and award-winning songwriter, Georgia Middleman. He has also appeared as a guest of the famed "Whiskey Jam" in Nashville. Along with his group "The Soul Plains Drifters,” Six has performed several shows at Country Stampede. These performances included main stage appearances with Big & Rich and Thomas Rhett.

"You may be witnessing the first step of what will become a colossal career" - Sharon L. Peters, USA Today

The Family Man Behind the Band

By Emily C. Shepard

Drew Six is a country rocker by night and an attentive father to three year old Josephine by day.

He and his wife, Miki Jarrett, experienced challenges having a child, and eventually Drew came to terms with just being a dog dad and a musician. And then Josie came, and his whole world changed.

“Now I can’t imagine my life without her. Having her was really dramatic for me, and all the parts of fatherhood came together very naturally,” Drew said.

Drew has not given up his passion for making music because he knows that he can be both a great father and a great musician. He balances these two roles by traveling less, spending his afternoons with Josie, and still performing in the evenings.

“I spend a lot of time with her by choice. I’ll never get this time back with her. I have no regrets about that because I think you can do both and be happier when you balance it. To me, you aren’t doing any favors for the people you love if you give up on your dreams. You have to be the best version of yourself to be your best for them.”

When Drew learned that he would be spending his days at home with his daughter, he thought he would have all the time in the world to work.

“I really believed that I would have so much time to write and be productive, but sometimes I can’t even send a text.” (Parents everywhere can relate to that!) “So I get a lot done during nap time, or now that she is in daycare a few days a week, I work during those afternoons.”

Drew actually began his life as an artist by drawing and painting…until he realized he could get more girls by playing the guitar. Now his interest in art is reignited and he and Josie spend a lot of time making artwork together. He even draws her a picture with a positive message to put in her lunchbox each day she goes to daycare. When Josie comes home, she puts her beloved drawing into a photo album.

In addition to her special drawings, her mom practices a daily positive affirmation with Josie. Both of her parents make sure that she knows how special she is and how much she is loved.

“I have a great teammate and we have a great relationship, and we both do not take Josie for granted.”

Josie, like her dad, loves music and dancing. She requests that her daddy dance with her all the time, even at restaurants; Drew, of course, never turns her down.

When asked to give advice to new parents, Drew said this: “My advice is just to be there. No one really knows what they are doing at first, but I figure it out every day as I go along, and I’ve learned how important it is to just be present in her life.”
